The polka
Polka (or polka) is a popular dance that appeared in Bohemia in 1830. Its form derives directly from the minuet, with an introduction that prepares the entry of the subject and one that serves as a final coda to the work, played with tuba, bass, clarinet and accordion but some battery power.


In the rhythm of two quarters and fast tempo, dance with side steps, such as "step", "close", step, jump and rapid changes, why they became very popular in Europe and America.

In Argentina, the United States, Mexico, Peru and Paraguay (where it is called also purajei) has become, since his arrival in mid-nineteenth century, with particular styles, one of the national folk music.
