Iron Maiden have announced release of the director's version of The Final Frontier, the title track on his new album, published on August 17, 2010. The video is a special edition of the song that opens the album, entitled Satellite 15. The Final Frontier, and the version can be viewed on its website is produced by the Oscar-winning company Darkside Animation Films.

Darkside's creative team has produced animation for films such as Lost in Space, Gladiator and Black Hawk Down. The script has been made by the director of Hitchniker Guide To Galaxy, BBC Radio, and the action has been coordinated and directed by Nick Scott Studios.

The album The Final Frontier-the fifteenth in the race group contains ten new songs, with a duration of more than 76 minutes. The album will be launched in a limited edition for collectors including video of The Final Frontier in the version of the director, interviews with the band, computer screensavers, photos and exclusive game Mission II: Rescue & Revenge. Iron Maiden will also release the album on iTunes LP version with extras and digital standard.
